It’s function is to entertain the readers.
The generic structure of narrative text is :
Orientation : for introduction main characters I a setting of place and time (who, what, when, where)
Complication : Tells the problems of the story and how the man characters solve.
Evaluation : This is optional, you can use it on your narrative text if you want. It’s function to create more interesting in the storyline.
Resolution : Solving problem or the ending of the story.
Example :
Cinderella
Once upon a time, in a farawely there was a woman named Cinderella. She lived with her step mother and two step sisters.(orientation)
When fairy god mother gave her pair of glass slippers,and gown,she went to the ball. Cinderella and prince danced in the ball. At 12.00 a.m Cinderella ran from the ball and one of her glass slippers released.(complcation)
Finally, Cinderella and prince met again and married. Cinderella and prince lived happily
